What is Ethicality?
An independent certification body for the ethical use of AI.
A certified organization has been independently assessed against the Ethicality AI Use Standard (EAUS), based on the practices and evidence it provided at the time of assessment.
Why it matters
More everyday work now involves AI. Clients and customers often have no simple way to know how it was used, whether sensitive information was protected, or whether a person remained responsible.
Transparency and human responsibility are also increasingly reflected in AI rules and government guidance around the world.
Ethicality makes those practices visible. We assess organizations against a published standard and issue a publicly verifiable certification when they meet it.

The Ethicality AI Use Standard (EAUS)
EAUS is a practical standard for transparent, human-led business use of AI. It focuses on three things: being open about meaningful AI use, keeping people responsible for important work and decisions, and protecting confidential information.
- Be transparentSay so when AI meaningfully contributes to your work, and be accurate about how you use it.
- Important decisions stay with peopleA person reviews material AI-assisted work and approves important decisions. AI does not make final consequential decisions about people on its own.
- Protect confidential informationConfidential, privileged and sensitive information stays out of public or unapproved AI tools.
Meeting the standard means an organization satisfies each of the fifteen applicable requirements; falling short means private findings, with a route back for reassessment.

We assess your submission against the applicable EAUS requirements. A named certification officer reviews every decision.
Certification
If you meet the standard, you receive the Ethicality Badge, certificate and public registry entry.
