About Ethicality
Trust in AI cannot be self-declared.
Ethicality is a voluntary certification body. The Blue Badge confirms, on the public record, that an independent third party has assessed the organisation's AI practices against a published ethical standard. It is the same logic boards already accept for sustainability, labour standards, and food safety — applied to AI.
Mission
To make the ethical use of AI verifiable, so that public commitments are supported by independent evidence.
Most organisations have already committed publicly to using AI ethically. Far fewer can show what that commitment means in practice. Certification is how a board makes that visible.
Method

Application
An organisation submits a short intake describing its AI use and oversight.

Assessment
An Ethicality-accredited assessor reviews documentation and evidence against the EUMS standard.

Board review
Ethicality's independent board reviews the assessor's findings and decides whether the standard has been met.

Decision & publication
If granted, the Blue Badge and certificate appear in the public registry.
Independence
Ethicality is incorporated under Canadian law and headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. No board seat is held by an employee of any AI lab or platform company. Certification fees are structured to prevent any single organisation from accounting for a material share of our revenue.
All standards documents are published openly. The certification mark belongs to Ethicality, not the certified entity.
