How suspension works — in the open.

What causes suspension

· Material misrepresentation during assessment
· Failure to notify Ethicality of a significant system change within 30 days
· Confirmed regulatory enforcement action against an AI system covered by the certificate
· Failure to complete annual surveillance review

What suspension means

· Badge automatically deactivates on third-party embed
· Registry entry updated in real time
· Certificate holder notified 5 business days before public status change (except in cases of regulatory direction)
· Reason category is published; confidential assessor notes are not

Every embedded Ethicality badge pulls live status from this registry. It automatically updates if a certificate is suspended or expires — and cannot be displayed for certificates that are not active.
